1. The structure of the text is an interview. I think the author chose this structure because it's a direct way to get the information across to the reader. For example the interviewer asked Laura "What happens when your blood sugar gets too high or low?". She answered that when it got too high she could go into a coma but fortunately it had never happened to her. Her blood sugar has gotten too low though. She said that when that happened she might have a seizure or get really tired or hyper. I like the interview form because you learn a lot of information from it,but I think it would have been more interesting if the interviewer took the information she gathered and put it into an expository form.
