  1. The narrator in this text is the ordinary brother. I think that the author chose this voice because the ordinary son wasn't a geniuse but he was still happy.in the story when the ordinary boy says he's free that meant he was happy that he was not a geniuse just like is brother. this helps me understand that the ordinary boy does not want to be a geniuse just like his brother he just wants to be free just like ordinary boys.jasmine p

  5. The narrator in this text is a boy.I think that the author chose this voice because he's the only person in his family that is not a genius. In the story when the boy figures out he is not a genius, he feels free and happy.this helps me understand that everybody in his family may be a genius but he feels original and he is glad that he stands out from his family.Another thing is that the author didn't say the story from another persons point of view because he is the ordinary son.-Alexis C

  6. The narrator in this text is telling the story. I think that the author chose this voice because he is an original person and he is different person then everybody else. In the story when The Ordinary Son went to Garrett's room when he saw when Garrett draw the battle- recreations of the French and The Indian Wars. This story helps me understand that he is the original boy in his family I liked the way the author used this voice because it nice to have a person that is not a genius. KARRIE JEAN

  10. The narrator in the text is The Ordinary son. I think that the author chose this voice because if the author chose Garret or there Mom they would talk more about their selfs and not about there other family member. In the story its says that the Ordinary son was watching Garret crawl along the paper reeling out figures of which very few were numbers and he recognized that most of the symbols were x 's and y 's. this help me understand that Garret likes math and he would have talk more about math or things that he like other then talk about his family.MoliM
